What does "KassenSichV" mean?

"KassenSichV" is the abbreviation for "Kassensicherungsverordnung", which is the Cash Register Anti-Tampering Ordinance issued by the German Federal Ministry of Finance. It regulates the technical requirements for cash registers and cash register systems, stipulated that all such systems must be equipped with a technical safety system or TSS (German: TSE) where technically feasible. The KassenSichV came into effect in Germany on 30 September 2020.

What does "TSE/TSS" mean?

A technical safety system or TSS stores all transactions made at a register to an internal memory, generating a code for each. Each transaction-specific code is printed on the corresponding sales receipt. The KassenSichV also stipulates as of 30 September 2020 that all cash registers must be TSS (German: TSE) compatible where technically feasible.

What does "GoBD" mean?

"GoBD" is the abbreviation for "Grundsätze zur ordnungsmäßigen Führung und Aufbewahrung von Büchern, Aufzeichnungen und Unterlagen in elektronischer Form sowie zum Datenzugriff", which means "Principles for properly maintaining and storing books, records, and documents in electronic form and for data access" in English. The regulation was issued by the German Federal Ministry of Finance on 14 November 2014.
