CCD2 readiness

CCD2 applies from 20 November 2026. Find out how it affects your Pay Later checkout and payment processing, and what you need to do.

What is changing

CCD2, the revised EU Consumer Credit Directive, brings two changes for Unzer Invoice, Unzer Installment and Unzer Direct Debit:

  1. Additional risk-check authentication. Some customers are asked to complete an extra verification step before their order is confirmed. Read more about the additional risk-check authentication (2FA) here.
  2. Consumer credit information in checkout. From 20 November 2026, your checkout needs to show mandatory consumer credit information to your customers. Read more about the consumer credit information in checkout here.

You need to check both

The two changes need different updates. If your integration is ready for one, it is not automatically ready for the other.
