Setting up the Tipping Function (TIP) on Your Terminals – Step-by-Step for All Devices
The setup and use of the tipping function varies depending on the terminal manufacturer, software version, and network operator. Below you will find the most important information for the most popular devices, as well as details on supported payment methods and special features.
General Notes
- Terminals are always shipped with the latest approved software.
- Activating and using the tipping function is free of charge for merchants.

Verifone® (PayOne Network Operation)
Devices: V200c/V400c from software version 703, V400m from 703
- Tipping entry via softkey (can be placed on the main display)
- TIP reporting only with cashier management on the transaction summary
- Tipping is not available if the terminal is connected to a cash register
- Payment by Girocard & credit card, contactless and chip-based

Verifone® (Verifone Payments Network Operation)
Devices: V200c/V400c from 7109, V400m from 7209, Trinity T650p from 9106
- Tipping entry only via softkey (can be placed on the main display)
- TIP reporting appears on the transaction summary
- Tipping is not possible when connected to a cash register
- Payment by Girocard & credit card, contactless and chip-based

- Tipping entry only via softkey (can be placed on the main display)

- Manual tipping entry possible
- TIP reporting on the transaction summary (total amount only)
- Tipping is not available if connected to a cash register
- Payment by Girocard & credit card, contactless and chip-based

Devices: Mobile Premium from 7016, Base Next from 7016, PAX A920 from 7016
- Manual tipping entry possible
- TIP reporting on the transaction summary (total amount only)
- Tipping is not available if connected to a cash register
- Payment by Girocard & credit card, contactless and chip-based

Ingenico (PayOne Network Operation)
Devices: Move5000 from 1564, Desk5000 from 1664
- Tip amount can only be entered as a percentage (not changeable)
- TIP appears only on the merchant receipt, not on the transaction summary
- Tip up to 25% of the transaction amount possible
- Tipping with cash register integration is possible (only if supported by the vendor)
- Payment by Girocard & credit card, contactless and chip-based

Ingenico (Verifone Payments Network Operation)
Devices: Move5000 from 6626, Desk5000 from 6626
- Only credit card payment, contactless & chip
- Tip amount can only be entered as a percentage (not changeable)
- Manual entry also possible, maximum 25% or €100
- TIP shown only on merchant receipt
- Tipping with cash register integration possible (if supported by the vendor)
