What is a virtual account?

Virtual accounts are commonly also referred to as virtual IBANs. The principle is the same: In the future, virtual subaccounts will be created for each central physical account, each with its own unique IBAN. This will allow multiple subsidiaries of a corporation each have its own separate virtual account. All these virtual accounts are linked to the real bank account of the parent company. This method simplifies the account structure, creating transparency and easing the administrative load.

What are virtual IBANs?

Virtual IBANs are virtual account numbers. Often called "virtual accounts", they belong to one real, central bank account. There is no limit to the number of virtual IBANs that can be created per physical account. They consist of a three-digit fixed component in addition to a customizable seven-digit component. Companies can individually specify this last component, for instance to clearly identify a sender.
