Common abbreviations that Unzer uses

Here you can find a list of terms and abbreviations that you may encounter when using Unzer products. Understanding them will help you better understand your settlements or nudge us in the right direction when trying to identify technical problems.


Which transaction types are there?

  • CB = Chargeback
  • CD = Credit
  • CN = Chargeback Notification
  • CP = Capture
  • CR = Chargeback Reversal
  • DB = Debit
  • DR = Deregistration
  • FI  = Finalize
  • IN = Initialize
  • PA = Reservation Pre-Authorization
  • PN = Payment Notification
  • RB = Rebill
  • RC = Receipt
  • RF = Refund
  • RG = Registration
  • RR = Reregistration
  • RV = Reversal
  • SC = Strong Customer Authentication



What is a short id?

A short ID is a unique identification number associated with a transaction.

If you ever have questions about a transaction, we will need its short ID.
You can find the short ID on Unzer Insights.



What is a sender id?

All IDs are generated randomly in our payment system.

We will send you sender IDs, just like your login ID and password, along with your

live data.



What is a unique id?

A unique ID is a unique (one-time) ID associated with one single transaction.
If you ever have any questions about a transaction, be sure to provide us with the unique ID so we can locate the right transaction.



Which billing items are there?


Transaction costs:

All successful transactions with one of the following payment flows: DB, RB, RC, CP


Rejected/Canceled transactions:
Rejected/Canceled transactions (NOK) -> all possible transaction types

Refunds:
Refunds to consumer RF

CF Neutral: 
Transactions without payment flow DR, FI, IN, PA, RG, RR, RV

Chargebacks:
Earlier amount charged that is then charged back to consumer CB, CN




Which payment methods are there on settlements?


Here is a list of abbreviations of possible payment methods that you might encounter on your settlements:

CC (CREDIT CARD)

Credit cards are primarily geared toward the consumer credit sector. There is a limit on each card, depending on the cardholder's credit rating. Outstanding amounts are generally deducted from the cardholder's account monthly.


DC (DEBIT CARD)

Debit cards can be used wherever Visa or Mastercard are accepted. They are branded with a credit card logo. But unlike credit cards, transactions are deducted directly from the associated bank account.


DD (DIRECT DEBIT)

The order amount is withdrawn from the consumer's account via direct debit.


IV (ACCOUNT)

The consumer is sent an invoice along with the goods they ordered.

The consumer then transfers the money to Unzer, and we pay out the amount to the merchant.


HP (HIRE PURCHASE)

With hire purchase by easyCredit, consumers have the option of paying for their goods conveniently in installments.

easyCredit pays out the funds to Unzer, and Unzer compensates the merchant in the next settlement.


OT (ONLINE TRANSFER)

When completing an order in the merchant's shop with one of these online transfer payment options, the consumer is redirect to the respective payment site (Sofortüberweisung, iDeal EPS, or giropay).

From there, the consumer makes the online transfer via PIN/TAN.


PP (PREPAYMENT)

First, the consumer is sent a transaction request.

After receiving the payment, the merchant ships the goods.


VA (VIRTUAL ACCOUNT)

Unzer manages technical processing for this payment method.

Revenues and pay outs are made directly to the merchant's PayPal account.
