Fiskaltrust & FinanzOnline FAQ
Modified on Wed, 1 Apr at 1:15 PM
In this article, we summarize frequently asked questions on the topic of fiskaltrust and FinanzOnline.
As new questions continue to arise, this list will never cover everything. Therefore, if your question is not listed here, please contact our support team.
Below are the questions we have been able to answer so far:
Why is there a partnership with fiskaltrust?
Tillhub cooperates with fiskaltrust because fiskaltrust is one of the few major providers of tamper protection with an external cloud solution in Austria.
In the event of a server outage at fiskaltrust or FinanzOnline, the Tillhub cash register can continue to operate without problems. The same applies in reverse: if the Tillhub server fails, the other two servers will continue to function. In this exceptional case, fiskaltrust would detect the failure of the Tillhub server and report it to FinanzOnline.
Furthermore: if the law changes again, a cloud solution is definitely the more flexible option for implementation.
Is payment via SEPA mandate possible?
Yes, with fiskaltrust you can use Slimpay to pay by direct debit as usual. You will need your IBAN for this.
Why do I need to create a separate user despite having a FinanzOnline account?
It is mandatory that the FinanzOnline account has the rights of a “Cash Register WebService” user.
However, since the Federal Ministry of Finance does not provide clarification as to whether this authorization can be assigned to an existing FinanzOnline user, creating an additional “Cash Register WebService User” at FinanzOnline is the safest route.
This is also recommended by tax advisors.
What if I don’t have a UID or ATU?
In this case, you can alternatively use your TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number) or GLN (Global Location Number).
Why all of this?
The Federal Ministry of Finance has issued these regulations, which we are able to comply with thanks to the partnership with fiskaltrust.
What happens if I have no internet connection in my store?
In principle, offline operation is possible for up to 48 hours. After 48 hours at the latest, the iPad must be connected to the internet so that all data can be transmitted to the cloud.
This means that your store can work offline, but it is absolutely necessary to go online at least once every 48 hours. This can be done via hotspot, Wi-Fi, etc.
What happens if I don’t register my cash register with fiskaltrust & FinanzOnline?
If you do not implement the legally required tamper protection measures, you may face fines of up to €5,000.00.
Which trust service provider or cash register certificate does fiskaltrust use?
Until 06.09.2017, the certificate used was A-Trust. Since that date, PrimeSign has also been in use.
Under what conditions am I exempt from the cash register obligation?
There are a few exceptions, which only your tax advisor can explain in detail. It is only known that businesses that generate outdoor sales of no more than €30,000.00 net annually are exempt from the obligation.
This mainly applies to stands in public areas such as streets and parks – specifically, businesses without a fixed connection to enclosed premises, such as Christmas tree vendors.
However, if the threshold of €30,000.00 net annual turnover is exceeded, a cash register must be purchased and put into operation within 3 months.
