Selection of Payment Method

After activation, you can select your preferred payment method per transaction on your Verifone card reader. You will then have access to online or offline direct debit (signature) as well as PIN payment.

In this tutorial, we will show you useful information and a guide on how to use the selection feature on your card reader.

Main Display

You will see your home display.

At the bottom right, there is a button with 9 white dots, labeled Transactions.

Please select this option.

Transactions can only be used without a cash register connection. With a connected POS system, this function is unfortunately not available on your card reader. Please contact your POS provider about this.

Selection of Payment Method

You can now choose, per transaction, how the payment should be executed for your customer.

Girocard:

The payment becomes a PIN payment

The payment is immediately verified with the bank

Online Lastschrift:

The payment must be confirmed with a signature

Payment is checked against the blacklist (no bank verification)

Risk is borne by the merchant

Offline Lastschrift :

The payment must be confirmed with a signature

No check against the blacklist or the bank

Payment is only transmitted with the cash register closing

Risk is borne by the merchant

Information about the Blacklist

Network operators receive a daily blacklist that is imported into the systems, containing information about stolen or deactivated card data. If a card is reported stolen at the bank, this information is added to the blacklist.

Direct debit payments are usually executed from the customer's account after 3 banking days.
