Connect the Verifone H5000 to the POS

For setting up your terminal you will need the following two passwords:

• Technician password
• Cashier password

Please obtain both passwords from your payment provider before you begin setting up your terminal.
Note that the menu navigation may vary slightly depending on your terminal’s software version and payment provider.

1. Connect the terminal to the router via LAN (the LAN port is silver).

2. Configure the network connection

• Main menu > Administration > Merchant > System data > DFÜ parameters > DHCP > switch on and note down the IP address.

3.  Initialize the terminal

• Main menu > Diagnostics > Initialization (the terminal should print a receipt with the terminal ID and the note “Network operational”).

4.  Activate OPI

• Main menu > Administration > Service > POS interface > OPI > Receipt printing by POS: Yes > TCP/IP > set Terminal port number to 20002 > set POS port number to 20007.

5.  Connect the terminal to the POS

• My Business > OPI Terminal > enter the IP address if it was not found automatically > when the IP is found it will be shown in blue — then click Apply > Sign in (after this, the H5000 display shows “Terminal ready for operation”).
