Gift card feature in the app

Once everything is set up in the dashboard, you will work in the app interface. We distinguish 2 essential steps.

Top up a gift card

Open “Library – Gift cards – Top up.”
A pop-up opens where you can either scan the barcode or enter the code manually.
If the gift card is found in the system, enter the amount you want to load.
The left side shows the current balance; the right side shows the balance after the top-up.
The top-up amount then appears as a line item in the cart.
Check out as usual; the gift card will now hold the desired amount.

Step 1: Redeem a gift card

If a customer wants to pay with a gift card, this can be done via the Library or through the normal Checkout flow (select Voucher).
As with the top-up process, you can scan the barcode or enter the code manually during payment.
If the available balance is sufficient, the sale is completed automatically.
If the balance is insufficient, the redeemed amount is shown and the remaining amount must be paid using another method (e.g., cash).

From version 4.9 onward, when you scan a gift card barcode, the app will ask whether you want to Redeem the gift card or Top up/Sell it.
